Apparently.
I've had a run of health issues this past month, strongly limiting my ability to keep up with my hobbies. On my few (three, there's been three) good days, I've had to catch up on cleaning and errands. Of course that left me exhausted bu all in all, I'd rather be exhausted and have a clean home, than risk insects deciding our apartment makes a suitable home.
I did manage an update about having had the flu, then severe joint pain in my shoulders, massive headaches, and then more joint pain but the full list, in order, goes like this:
Flu
Pinched nerve in right shoulder
Massive headache
Pinched nerve in left shoulder
Nasty head cold
Sinus infection from head cold
Muscle aches bad enough to keep me awake all night, multiple nights in a row
Extreme fatigue, making things as simple as showering extremely difficult.
It's a lot. See, I have chronic conditions that haven't yet been diagnosed, but based on all the daily symptoms I have which are apparently not "normal"... Something is going on. Because of the way healthcare is in the US and the fact that all of my physical issues keep me from being able to hold a typical job, I have never been able to see a doctor about these issues. Between lots of medical research (avoiding things like WebMD) and reading the lived experiences of people with conditions I suspect I have, I have very strong suspicions. I know it's still taboo outside of sites like Tumblr, but I have pretty much self diagnosed myself with hypermobility as a condition. This lends to a lot of what's going on physically. I do have additional symptoms that don't fit neatly in that box, and research as well as family history have pointed me in the direction of two other potentials that I need to speak to a doctor about.
Luckily, I have managed to finally find a doctor who is taking my current insurance and accepting new patients, and I will be seeing him for the first time this Friday. I don't have a lot of time before my insurance expires, and I highly doubt I'll be able to renew it, so I'll try to stress that Things are Wrong with me, I need labels and coping strategies ASAP. Hopefully.....hopefully we'll be able to get the vast majority of my symptoms dealt with quickly. Even if I can't get all of it to more tolerable levels, experiencing multiple types of pain all over my body is exhausting and keeping me from doing things I love and want to do. Such as keeping up with this blog like I vowed myself to.
Since right now, the majority of my symptoms are tingling and aches in my limbs and general extreme fatigue, but these don't keep me from being able to type, I will try to draft several posts to schedule for publishing over the next several weeks.
I know I meant to start videos at the beginning of February, and February is nearly over now, but I also ran into another issue! My camera! My camera was to be my cellphone, but I found it overheats quickly in video mode (15 minutes of multiple takes makes it overheat and lock up), and the microphone on it isn't very good. Not unusual for an amateur blogger, but that just added insult to injury. However, I have borrowed a small webcam that hasn't been used in a while, and will be checking that out soon. Hopefully tomorrow. Honestly, right now that may be my only option, regardless of microphone quality.
Right now, this blog is a mess, mostly because of my health. Which is also a mess. If I spend more time working on blogging here instead of spending so much time ranting and venting on Tumblr about my health, perhaps I'll have more scheduled posts here!
